"Ocean Flow" always gave me a feeling of movement, as though something was being poured down through the surface. Almost like looking at the bowl of a waterfall from just under the surface of the water. I called it "Ocean Flow" because of the way the orange and blue combined to give an almost green hint to the colours of the blue. This piece was a part of my exploration of contrasting colours. I was working with a range of blues and one very vibrant orange. The technique to create this piece is known as a dirty cup pour, as all the colours go in to one container before they go on to the canvas. It's a technique that allows colours to blend a bit before they get put down but also allows for a degree of colour fidelity. I love this technique as you can never really predict what the colours will do when they react with each other.
